In case anyone from Ira and Larry Goldberg reads this forum...

Just received your two catalogs yesterday and was looking through it this morning. I have to say, the product images included in the catalog are the best I've ever seen in any catalog. Beautiful coins make for beautiful pictures, but these images are just amazing. I'm not sure who takes the pictures for you, but two thumbs up to that person. Good Luck with the sale.

I for one did not appreciate getting their catalogues right while FUN is going on. Causing mixed emotions about potential purchases.

What does one do to receive catalogues from the major auction houses?

Mixed about potential FUN purchases or theirs?
Seems to me that they should put out their catalog before people blow their budgets, right?

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Drop a few thousand at auction, pay your bill, and catalogs magically start appearing.

I'm on their site, and have made purchases but I don't receive anything. Must be discrimination against the catloaf.

These guys used to occasionally sell on Ebay and I have nothing but the best to say about them. I've never seen one of their formal auction catalogs but it sounds like they do a great job. They have been around for many, many years. I guess that makes them old farts.

For years, I used to receive their catalogs.
I purchased quite a few coins as well. However, it
seems as if that if you are not a successful bidder
for a few auctions, they drop you from their list.

That's a shame really, as Heritage and Bowers & Merena,
Stacks, American Numismaticc Rarities and now the newly
formed Stack's Bowers have more than made up the slack.

Seems I find my numismatic needs filled quite well with
these companies. As the Goldbergs have such an infrequent
Schedule of US coin auctions, they have flown under my
    radar vas well.

When is their next auction ?

I know that feeling. When one is on a limited budget and I have something on the hook, I usually look around to see if there is something coming up that I might want even worse.

I do not receive the catalogs, by choice. I currently receive no catalogs.

I have looked at the online catalogs (the photos are very good), selected cons for my professional rep to check, and have made plans to bid through him. He will be in the auction room. I am looking forward to learning what I won tomorrow.
  • I don't understand why they don't list pictures for every lot. image
Every time I would interested in bidding on something they don't have any picture!!

Sorry for the delay in posting I just saw this. Thanks for the compliments on the catalogs and images.

To answer a couple of questions.
1- Our auctions our always held prior to the Long Beach Coin show.
2- 99% of individual coin lots are imaged online. We typically only show images of lots $500 and above in the catalog but thats not a rule. Group lots are not imaged.

    Mike,

    Should get mine today!
Great coins are not cheap, and cheap coins are not great!
  • Photo guy I second the original thread. Great photos and great catalogs, and they have always had world class customer service. As a small fish Glen and others have gone the extra mile to help several times. Thank you Goldberg's.
