Check out this ugly dog! This was an ebay purchase last Sunday that showed up yesterday!
I haven't had time to take my own photo's just yet, but it looks just like this in hand.

Nice. I had pointed out a well circulated, but white coin on eBay the other day and was disparaging it. Another forum member asked what I thought was wrong with it, to which my response was that it didn't look lie a well circulated CC coin from this period should look.

Now THIS coin, is what I expect! I would love to know where this coin has traveled and for what it was used to purchase.

I considered bidding on it but it was just too crusty for me and I like crust! I have 3 other 1876-CC's as well. Glad you're happy with it. It's the ultimate circ cameo, that's for sure! I wonder how it toned so dark. IN an envelope, maybe?

    That's actually very cool!
It was LordM that got me started looking for these circulated cameos.

Well this one day, back in 1876, this guy was changing the oil on his car... image
