Some new CBH's for the collection..........TRUE VIEWS

Here are some new CBH's for my collection.......opinions and comments welcome.

I took advantage of the Quarterly Special and sent them in for true view imaging, however, for some reason, the colors in the true views don't show as well as the coins in hand.

  • Very nice coins. I really like higher grade bust halves. I tired to pick one I like best, but it's a tough call. They all look pretty darn nice!

I like them all except the 1822. That one just doesnt do it for me, but I understand it might be a tougher variety.

    The 1829 is AMAZING!!

True View photos seem to be coming rather "washed out" lately. For example, the Roger Solomon coin (1819/8 Small 9 PCGS AU58 - Roger Solomon Collection) got this photograph for Sheridan Downey's auction last year. Lance Keigwin did the photos of the collection and I think he did an outstanding job.

  • Very Nice Dave, Love that 29...

I do agree the photos look washed out...

Didn't they just hire a new Photographer to help Phil...?

Thank you again everyone for the kind words.

They are all nicely toned (how I like them) and will fit in nicely with the rest of my busties.

BTW, from my experience collecting bust halves, I have learned that the 1818/7 Small 8 happens to be a tough variety to find in choice AU.

I am very happy to have found this beauty (see above) with its reddish gold toning!

Was late when i gave them a quick boo last night...On closer inspection the 18/7, 19/8, and 28 have great strikes as well...Very nice

Congratulations - that's quite the haul! I had to go up and down a few times just to take them all in. Barndog's sharing of the Downey sale photo sure is interesting when compared with yours!

  • Dave,

You definately have the eye for the busts you collect. Amazing, if I could find CBH like that I would not have started a type set. You have the ability to sit tight until the righgt coin comes along. That is truly a gift.

  • Lovely, just lovely.

    I particularly like the 1819/8 and 1829.

About as nice AU's as one is likely to find.

    Congrats!

Thanks for the nice words, Barndog.

I was about to make the same observation about the True Views. The 19/8 is a spectacular coin but the True View isn't representative.

Gorgeous CBH's, Dave, as always. We've come to expect nothing less!
    Lance.
