It would be cool if all the coin reference books were available as ebooks.

This also means free books for thousands of people. I honestly dont understnad why e-books are made at all given how easily they are distributed. But I suppose its the same theory as MP3s and such.

Free - Most are not free. But they are cheaper than the hard copy edition. You pay for them and then download to your nook

As long as paper books are still available, it would be fine with me if they were also produced in electronic format.

I don't wanna lose my actual books (even those that have not been written yet).

I recently downloaded and spent some time with the Red Book on IBooks for the iPad. The navigation takes some getting accustomed to, but after a few minutes, I was able to get where I wanted to go nearly as fast as with the book in hand. I do not see that it will ever be faster to search a reference book in the ebook format, but the ability to have a huge reference like the Red Book at your disposal in your pocket makes it very useful. That said, CoinFacts, designed for the Internet and recently adapted for the smart phone, is overall a more comprehensive reference. The only problem with CF is that you must rely on a steady Internet connection, and this is usually but not always there when you need it.

Ebooks are very convenient, no doubt about that. That being said, I still enjoy my library and the feel of a solid reference book. Yep, probably a bit old fashioned, but happy. Cheers, RickO

do it yourself. thats what i am doing to the red-book, although,
i have no idea how to put it on a mobil device?

a year and a half after my initial reply, I still want to be able to buy actual books, but ebooks would really be a great thing to have in this hobby.

I'd love it if you could buy a (real) book and have a free one use only ebook download available.

Scan it as a PDF and import to Ibooks. It will suck, but you can say that you did it.

For my own personal use of course, with no intention of giving or selling
to others. no one else is even allowed to look at it, or know where it is.
Anyway , the information is changed so much , these is no way to really tell
where it came from.

It would be cool if all the coin reference books were available as ebooks.
