I am not sure I get it. Regarding your 2 coins, there are pops lower and pops higher.
So, general question: If a coin is Pop 1, but there are several in nicer grades, is it still cool to have that Pop 1 coin?
............It's like, here in Oklahoma, we have a hill called "Cavanal Hill". It is known as "the world's largest hill", because any mound bigger than 2000 ft from base to top is considered a "mountain". Cavanal Hill is 1999 ft high. So it gets recognition, but is by no means that impressive......just sayin'.....
Gee, I live on a puny 500 ft hill. I'm feeling so inadequate.
On another note; I submitted 1933-D Lincoln I picked up at a local show for it's color and surfaces and it came back as a pop1 non higher PCGS MS66RB. There, I feel better now.
