Variety coin expert Ken Potter reports that a Michigan collector, Michael Tremonti, found a BU 1969-S doubled die penny while searching through a 50-coin roll of uncirculated 1969-S cents!

after what i have found in original bu red rolls of lincoln cents i would have to be careful not to damage the coins in a 1969 s roll i would open them so fast!

Finest doubled die obverse is 64RD; there was a 65RD but I think it grew a nasty fingerprint in the holder and might have been downgraded.
I have no idea what the value is of those unopened rolls but I've never been a proponent of leaving OBW undisturbed, especially when there's a potential variety inside. I would add that just because the collector who found the DDO was in Michigan, it doesn't the rolls he opened originated from there too.

However mine are from a bank where several of the DDO were found.
I figure Ill hold of waiting to open them for a little longer maybe another 20 years lol
