    I REALLY want to start a box of 20 collection. That's a beautiful large cent!

    It's nice as most 1835's are since Elmer Sears discovered a hoard of a thousand mint red 1835 examples in 1935.

    That is a very nice half cent. The half cent is one of the coins I'm having a tough time with for my type set.
    Most don't come like I want them.

    Most of the descriptions of the Sears hoard half cents that I've read mention that many of those coins were spotty or stained. The OP's coin is a true gem, with no blemishes in the pic at all.
