Some Half Dime Images from bluccphotos

I turned in three half dimes to PCGS to get the attribution on the label for my registry set.
Before turning them in to PCGS, I gave them to Todd to image. I've seen his work here on the CU Forums and wanted to give him a try at these coins. I like his work!
The first two represent upgrades for me. The third will be a new addition to the Registry Set.
Here they are (MS63, MS63, and AU53, respectively):

Great coins and wonderful images.
Anyone who has never tried to photograph a colored half dime ought to be subjected to this horrible form of numismatic torture before being allowed to comment on others' work.
Barndog, I have an 1829 half dime and it has that special blue toning like your 1835.
I don't see that variation of blue tone on other 1800's silver....could you expound?
Of course I'm a very small player and could be totally out of line.
Thanks
Ron
<< <i>Very nice indeed. Are you getting images done before sending to PCGS because of the prong holders? >>
hadn't really given any consideration to the prong holders. Wonder if these will be placed in such holders?
I wanted to get a few photos from Todd since I hadn't tried it in the past and was impressed with the results posted by others.

I just took a look at more than 200 coin photos I have of coins in my collection or formerly in my collection. Seems you are right that the blue color as one of the prevalent colors in the toning scheme is not present on too many of them. I counted a half dozen, maybe a bit more, as having significant blue to the toning pattern. Why this is I will leave to people way more knowledgeable than I am on the subject. There have been volumes written here on the CU Forums about the science of toning and I won't pretend to know even one percent of it all. Glad you liked the coins!
