If coin collecting were a 3 course meal, what would yours look like?

Some of my collection would match that of the 3 course meal, twelve hours later.

compared to others, mine would look like a 4 day old wilted salad, rotten meatloaf, and a melted Hershey's kiss.....

  • Mine would have to be a smorgasbord , many countries represented in bronze , copper , silver & gold dating back 1000 years , all washed down with a big glass of fresh moderns.

  • Mine would start with an appetizer of Colonial Coins topped with a Pine Tree Shilling.

Main course would be a plate piled high with a complete set of Large Cents.

Dessert would be some junk......Buffs, Wheaties, etc, and one foreign: a Greek Owl Tetradrachm .

    ......I collect old stuff......

    Silver Dollar Pancakes
    and
Chocolate Coins are the only two food-coin combos I can think of.

I know that's not exactly what you asked, but a fun twist anyway image
  • i'll start w/ a nice, lightly toned capped bust half cent... just something small to take the edge off...

followed by a thick, medium-rare (ok... XF raw) Morgan dollar and a red-wine colored Lincoln matte proof to drink...

topping it off w/ dessert... a blast white and frosty Barber quarter in MS66 and tall glass of milk-spotted ASEs
  • The main dish would have to be a coin with a lot of meat to it.

Well, I have a bunch of Morgan dollars, a bunch of early commems, and a bunch of other stuff. Standard supper club meat and potatoes with a salad and whatever dessert happened to be freshly made that day. The observant diner will notice some exotic herbs, spices, and seasonings on the meat that many would miss or not care about.
  • like dining at a fine restraunt. Overpaying for high quality, but with an emphasis on enjoying the experience.

The modern half looks like a vending machine exploded at the burlap factory. The classic half looks like the menu at 'Red Lobster'
