FUN show newps and some past rattlers finally imaged!

Ive been at the fun show all week and have had a great time. Coinkid855 picked me up Tuesday night and I've been staying with him all week and we have been hitting the show bright and early every morning and staying all day. The show has been lots of fun and I have found some good stuff. I picked some rainbow toners but flipped them quickly to another dealer for a nice profit. I also found some good rattlers for my type set. I got the silver eagle from bluevette62 (Thanks Todd!) and got most of the others from various dealers or on ebay the past few weeks. The barber quarter has awesome color and it was actually very tough to find in a rattler. I got the 1864 dollar from JJ teaparty and it is perfectly original and I am really pleased with it. I have had a great time hanging out with MFH Ponyexpress8 Dennis88 and coinkid855. It was also cool meeting several other forum members for the first time like Kove and bluevette62 both very neat guys who were very knowledgable in their areas and fun to talk to.

Nice pickups, and I see Paul has developed you into his protege, being able to buy toners and flip them for a profit at the same show!

That Constitution must be really rare in a rattler, nice coins!

Thanks guys today I found an 1857 half cent in 63 rb in a rattler which is an awesome coin on its own merit not to mention the rattler! I agree about the constitution being rare, Kobe said he would check his pop reports later but I doubt there are more than a dozen of them.

TAMU, I checked the pop report on some of your cool rattlers.

The big surprise is the 1987-W Constitution G$5, way more common than I would have guessed. There are 1 in MS67, 4 in MS68, 69 in MS69, and 8 in MS70.

The 1857 1/2c in 63RB is scarce in a rattler, 28 in 63RB, 7 in 64RB, none higher (only nine in any MS RD).

The 1905 Barber 25c is also scarce, with 10 in 63, 15 in 64, 7 in 65, 2 in 66, and 1 coin in 68 that you need to go find.

But the real rarity is your 1938 Washington 25c in PR60, with a population of 3 in that grade (and just a few hundred higher).

It's a great challenge to go and try to build a type set in rattlers!

Glad you enjoyed the show. Getting to meet people is a bug part of the joy of the shows, there are some great people in this hobby.

Thanks again for hawking my feeble IHC!

You were a busy one! Congrats on the great pickups. I really like the subtle toning on the 1905 barber - gorgeous.
