Do ICG c@c'ed coins exist?

Just curious?

  • I beleive that it is CAC policy to only evaluate NGC or PCGS graded coins.

So what? If the coin don't make the grade, don't give it a sticker. It's not like every PCGS coin gets a sticker.

Every tpg is inconsistent , but some are more so than others and let problem coins into their slabs.
Look at the bust half graded au 58 by ANACS on the board someone wants to cross. It would be lucky to get an AU50.

It is my understanding that JA has specifically addressed this issue, and inconsistent standards what not his reason. Ankur, you seem to be answering for CAC. Has John told you this is his reason, or are you just speculating?

Must be the meds. Only PCGS and NGC coins are evaluated by them.

I thought they bean PCGS coins by PCGS grading standards and NGC coins by NGC standards? image

Just a guess, buy if you owned a company that guaranteed the coins it co-certified, it might be a good business model to start with a product which had already been subjected to a certain level of time-tested scrutiny. This would be even more important if that same company wasn't allowed to open the plastic to actually hold, weigh, and inspect the goodies inside.

..... at least that's how I'd do it.

I believe they bean a coin by Their standards. CAC makes a market in coins they sticker. Doesn't make sense they would use different standards for different services. I have sold them a coin and they didn't ask which holder it was in.

ICG and/or ANACS could come up with an amusing advertising campaign alon g the line, "Our grading is so consistent, CAC finds no need to re-certify our coins..." image
