2 Peace in 66 - any chance at a + for either coin?

The 25 has a green bean.
The 23 crossed from ATS before the plus system was initiated.

For the 25, I would say no based on the hits to Liberty's forehead and the numerous small luster breaks. The strike is slightly soft for a Philly 25 too.

For the 23, I'd say....... maybe but the rims look, well, "busy". IME they're really tough on the 23 since there's just so many of them.

I'm not sure anyone would mistake either of them for a 67 so probably I'd guess no, but I've been wrong before. Plenty of times!

    No.

The 25 I would grade as 65. There are just too many minor imperfections in key visual areas.

The 23 I would grade as low end 66 due to the disturbances on the rim.

    No. But they're pretty nonetheless.

I would not feel the 25 would grade 66, but then I sure cannot argue with NGC or CAC.
What is going on above the 2 on the 23. I agree the rims really look to have some issues.
    No + grade here.
    Still attractive coins.

I have seen these rim disturbances on several Peace dollars. They do not look like nicks or bruises, but rather, mint-made defects. "Collar" or die issues?

Am I correct? Peace dollar experts anyone?

Oh, by the way, very nice coins.
