Question About Details Grade Crossover

Question-
I sent in 1912 $2.5 Indian to PCGS a while back, but got a no grade/refund. I then sent it in to NGC, and got an XF Details grade (removed from jewelry). I am wondering if I can send it back to PCGS to have it put in a PCGS slab.
I know it sounds like a waste of money to have this done, but I just hate how all of the other coins are PCGS but one is NGC. The NGC holder is bigger than the rest, so the lid never fits on the blue box and it makes me angry!
Bottom line- Will PCGS crossover a NGC details grade?

If you got a refund, it sounds like they had a problem authenticating the coin.
In my opinion it is not worth the effort.

This is correct. "Any grade" will cross only if it grades, whereas "genuine" will cross no matter what, as long as the coin is genuine. Now here's the question, how do they determine the coin is genuine if its in a NGC slab, without breaking it out?
I'm thinking you'll likely just get it back with the same response you originally got from PCGS.
If it means that much to you, go for it. But I agree with the others...it's probably not worth it. Get an NGC box and all the slabs will fit. Or sell it and buy a problem-free PCGS one. The 1912 quarter eagle is not very expensive in modest grades.

I agree. Ditch the coin, unless it is an heirloom or has sentimental value, and purchase your replacement already holdered.

on that subject does sending in for secure plus guarantee authentication? no questionables. or is it just as risky since if memory serves there are no details/genuine secure plus holders. either it grades or is not slabbed? but maybe the body bag for secure plus if for non-slabbed coins includes the blue insert sticker with genuine labeled?
i ask for the purpose of other coins and for those reading to learn a method for submissions if a coin has questionable authenticity.
i know ngc has that metallurgic analysis but if memory serves, it is a tad costly.

As far as I know SP does scanning and sniffing. It does not assist with grading or authentication. Surely there are corner cases.

That is wise marketing by PCGS.
Just buy a PCGS graded 1912 $2.5 and avoid the stress.
