Spot on. I do wonder if that one hit in the reverse field below UNUM held it to a 65.

Well since your a NGC guy I'm gonna say 66+ if the luster is good.
So if I'm right do I win that 39D Avatar of yours?

I already voted 65+ but looking closer at the die polish on the reverse below "UNUM" it would not surprise me if NGC blew it and gave it a Details Purple People Eat-ter Label,

I have had several coins over the past year that had die polish mistaken for a rub or cleaning......when in fact it is die polish.

Not a tough coin, so I think PCGS would be nice to you and give it a MS66. If that is an MS65, I would love all my coins to look just like it!

I am torn between 66 and 67. Very clean for a Jefferson, but the luster doesn't look 67 to me. I know your photos can capture luster so i guessed 66+. Allcoinsrule is pretty much spot on.

Not my photos, those are the Heritage photos. I will post my photos in this thread when I get it. And you are right, allcoinsrule is spot on on both of his comments.

you do have a great eye on Jefferson stuff, nice to see a new player hit the field

there are a few "know it alls" that need a fresh perspective

65. It has a little too much to be a 66. To me, a 67 is almost perfect and a 66 is a 67 but with like one or two small flaws.

Here are the new photos.

This is one of the best 1959-D's that I have seen and I think it would have a good shot at MS66+. The luster is satin but should not preclude a higher grade.

WoW thats a big hit on the step on the old pic it was not ther or was it? But a very nice coin.

I was going with 66 as well.

How about now.

The flaws on this coin are so small, they are almost undetectable to the naked eye.
