Anyone know what causes the dull gray appearance here. Have seen it on other Morgans as well.

I have seen others that were touched only for a brief time and later developed a similar look. (I'm much more careful now than when I began this hobby!)

Usually the straight line is a dead giveaway for endroll toning. The darkness on this coin suggests it has been exposed for a long time. I kinda like it myself. Wonder what it looks like in hand.
