What do you do when Ebay seller won't actually sell the item?

  • << <i>Maybe that's why this seller hasn't gotten any negs so far. It's a pain to tie up your money for all that time, especially since there's the possibility that an unscrupulous seller could send an empty envelope (or whatever other scam) and make it a pain to get back the money from Paypal. >>

Then you file the PP claim, item not as described. You send it back.

I think most people just don't want the hassle. I'd pay for the card, and file a claim. It will be worth it in the long run to get this crook off ebay.

<< <i>Looking at his recently ended auctions, he had two 89 Topps Tiffany Traded Griffey PSA 10s end the same day. One ended at $137.50 and the other at $25. I wonder if the buyer of the $25 one got the same cancellation notice?

One was a Tiffany Griffey, the other a regular Topps card, that's why there was a huge disparity in final prices.

I'm amazed at how many feedbacks he has received. Seems to me to be a rookie seller. Not only is he not a good liar but he doesn't know how to shill up his auctions.

VCP on this card is $99.54?

This seller is doing all this due to a perceived loss of sixteen bucks?

I don't know if VCP on PSA 9's is $99, was that for all 1984 Tiffany Mattinglys or straight PSA 9? It seems they've been landing significantly higher than that...

<< <i>If you don't care about tying your money up for a few weeks, I would pay him for the item. When he doesn't send it, open an "item not received" case; this is more damaging than a negative, as sellers can only have a few cases opened against them in a year's time before their account starts getting limited. Additionally, once eBay decides in your favor and gives you your money back, it will be on his file that he didn't send an item, so that if someone else has a problem with him later, the eBay CS monkey will see that he's done this before. I would also give him a scathing negative.

If you don't want to tie your money up, I would request his contact info through eBay and call him to give him a hard time, then leave the scathing negative. >>

The problem with doing this allows the shade seller to send a bogus card in the mail to prove to ebay he mailed something.
The buyer would have trouble winning his claim.

Actually the seller could send him the legit card, bogus card a turd or whatever and if you open a SNAD case via PayPal the seller is gonna lose 99 out of 100 times. So you are not opening yourself up to anything if the seller ships something else with tracking.
