Guess the fence was too much an obstacle.

    The delivery guy is toast.

    "Uploaded by goobie55 on Dec 19, 2011

Here is a video of my monitor being "delivered". The sad part is that I was home at the time with the front door wide open. All he would have had to do was ring the bell on the gate. Now I have to return my monitor since it is broken."

A few years back I had a package delivered by a careless UPS driver that not only damaged the box but my entryway stucco wall. I repaired the stucco. I used to look at the wall and wonder what my box did to him that made him so angry. image I can't complain about my current UPS guy, real nice older gentlemen.

    I'm curious.

Has anybody ever puirchased a flat screen monitor and had it delivered?

If so, was it delivered in it original packaging or was it packaged in some other box?

I just find it difficult to believe that a shipper would ship an item in a box that actually showed what was in the box.

Can anybody see any shipping labels on that package? I could not see a FedEx delivery/address label so I'm kinda wondering if that's even a real delivery? image

According to the NY Post it is -

"FedEx this afternoon copped to the shocking delivery.

“This is an irresponsible act and it will not be tolerated,” said FedEx spokeswoman Shea Leordeanu.

This careless deliveryman will be discipline, but the company rep didn’t say whether he’d be fired.

“He will be worked with according to our disciplinary policies,” Leordeanu said.

This computer-dropping delivery was made in Southern California and the company promised to make good with the ripped-off owner.

“We saw the video and quite frankly were shocked,” Leordeanu added.

“This was careless treatment of a customer package by our courier and it will be addressed. We take pride in the quality of service we provide to millions of customers daily and we will not tolerate any irresponsible act that affects the quality of any item we deliver and the good reputation FedEx is known for worldwide.”

Disclaimer - I'm not sure how reliable the NY Post is, but Shea Leordeanu shows up in Linkedin, "Shea Leordeanu, Sr. Communications Specialist at FedEx Express" link , so there might be some validity to the video.

The NY Post is only slightly more reliable than The National Enquirer but not nearly as enjoyable.
It's the low man on the journalistic totem pole of the 3 major NY dailies (Times, News, Post).

I guess I'm not really surprised that this story has been picked up by damn near everybody without folks asking where the shipping label might be.

When my company sends me a new laptop, it never gets delivered in its original box simple because its not a secure method of shipping. Computer monitors aren't cheap.

Besides, this wouldn't be the first time someone got the networks and newspapers to do their work for them.

There were some posts on that video where some folks were skeptical that it was real.

I had a LCD computer monitor delivered via USPS four months ago and it was inside of a larger box.

I've purchased lots of electronic equipment lately that comes in a box that shows what it is. DVD players, flat screen monitors, etc.

Dell ships laptops in special, easily recognizable laptop boxes with Dell on the outside.

Ive also purchased several electronic items online that were delivered in the OEM box showing clearly what it is , just yesterday the new DVD/Bluray player arrived in it's own OEM box , we bought two toshiba laptops recently , same thing.Heres the kicker though , i bought a spongebob pinball machine for one of the kids and it is compact for a tabletop but it came in a huge box with just the toy and a lot of bubblewrap.

Looked like there was a label on the narrow end that was visible as he heaved it over the fence.

Seems awfully strange that someone was just standing there with a video camera.

You're probably right. This guy should be fired and the replacement cost of a new TV should be deducted from his last pay check.
