silver below $30.00

Slver dropped below $30.00. First time since the end of January of this year. I didn't think we would ever see silver below $30.00 again.

What do you think it will drop to and what do you think it will be at the end of 2112?

I'm not sure how low it will drop, but don't think it will stay low for long, good buying opportunity

Depends on so many things it's hard to keep track of them all. I think silver is pretty low right now too, and I wouldn't be surprised if it were higher by year-end 2012.
    When in doubt, don't.

Actually it dropped below $29 & has been below $30 for a couple of days.
Silver in a hundred years? Not much, except in numismatic coins from the 20th & 21st Century. Substitude for industrial use would have been found.

I think it could hit $20 to $25 range in 2012.

True, it hurts us 'stackers' in the short term.

    But I actually welcome it.

It is truly a 'gift from the PM Gods' as it will be one of the greatest buying opportunities of the decade.

Perhaps .. but if history repeats itself, it will take 30 years to get back to $50 & I'll be long dead by then.

I'd like to take that bet.

I'll put up $1000 and give you 5 to 1 odds.

    How about it?

    Everyone here is a witness.

I think history does repeat itself but in ever shorter cycles , i hope we are all around to ride the silver roller coaster one more time , it was fun.A lot of us were in at 14 / oz and lower so it hasn't been too painful a dip.

For what it is worth - I spoke with a long time coin dealer (50+ years in the business) and he told me to expect silver to drop to between $19 - $21 an ounce soon. Of course, anyone can make predictions. But he did predict correctly the last 2 drops. So it won't surprise me that silver drops another $10/ ounce in 2012. I've given up trying to figure it out!

Silver flirts with $50 and stays at $40 for a little while after being at 5$ dollars for most of all time and you think 30$ is the bottom?? Investments are a physiological fascinating human phenomenon; Layman buy at the top and sell at the bottom more similar to a gambler and less like a banker where in all other facets of life they buy at only the bottom even at the sacrifice of quality. Do you think dealers are going to sell it a lower price after they paid alot more for it when they purchased it or should i say when they ripped the public off to get it..I hope silver goes down to at least $10.00 a oz and stays there

Precious metals are a bubble in my opinion, and the price WILL go down a lot at some point in the next 1-5 years, and people will loose a lot of money when it does, unfortunately.

From a purely selfish angle, I hope silver does take another large dip one more time, so that maybe I can buy a few more Walkers, Peace, & Morgans I need to fill holes without having such a large bite on my shrinking budget.......

Or, as silver prices drop, will numismatic value once again be king & prevent my being able to find many people offering to sell the dates I need at close to "melt"?

I have a feeling I won't be very lucky in filling holes much this time around after all......image

I'm not sure when I would start buying bullion-based stuff. I bought most of what I used to own at $4/ounce...sold some at $12, some at $25, some at $50. I have a weird internal calculator that says the "real" value is $12-$16, based on nothing but a hunch...but it may never go there again...or it could bounce up and down like a Superball.

Kidding, but when I look at charts I do get the feeling a bubble has burst. Or at the very least, we'll be range-bound for a long while. Just my opinion and yours is more valid.

But if you're banking that Silver is going to stay down, the thing to buy right now is anything that got ignored while everyone was playing the silver/gold game. Copper and nickel, perhaps? True collector coins? That might be the wise move.

He must be watching CNN instead of CNBC. Kramer is still pushing Gold, which, btw, is not a good sign for Gold.
