    That coin is awesome for a Delaware! It has the right combination of color and blazing fresh luster. I would not be surprised to see the coin end up in a 68 holder ATS just based on the look from the images.

    I really hate this thread. Not that I thought this coin would go undetected or under the radar. Someone is going to own one of the most eye appealing Delaware's out there. This coin is going much, much higher I'm afraid.

    It will be no surprise to see this coin bring 5-figures. This coin holds its own against many of the Condition Census coins shown on PCGS Coinfacts. This example will find it's way into very strong hands.

    I am also not surprised by the current bid level. I suggest that it makes sense to view the coin in actuality before drawing a conclusion regarding its status in a condition census.

    This coin is the complete package of OGH, color, CAC, strong for grade and high grade that is defining the price not just the color.

    As a toned peace dollar lover I understand the rarity of premium toning on certain issues. However the lack of toning symmetry on this makes it meh for me. The luster on the other hand is quite nice.

    I'll just have to be happy with my MS-66 white Delaware. It was no where near the cost of that coin with the toning. Wish I had a picture of mine but I didn't get one when I bought the coin.

    I am sorry to read you were not successful with your bid. It is a beautiful coin. May the coin gods smile upon you on your next quest.

    The last coin I bid on on eBay I bid what I thought was $50 more than the coin would bring. I am speaking of a less than $100 coin.
    When I checked it on the last night I had been outbid. I bid another $30 and and was still outbid. I let it go. I know we are speaking in different hemispheres but same goal.

    By the way, the coin I am speaking of was a darkside coin.

    But, but...it's tied with 71 others for finest known!!! I like nice toning, and that one is special, but unless I'd seen a large number of the other 71, I'd not chase it to 5 figures. I'm sure some of you have, so I bow to your knowledge, but not with my money.

    If you base your purchases on sheet prices your collection will be average at best.

    Better coins cost more than sheet prices and are in above average collections.

    Just do the research on HA.com and see for your self..

    I've never looked at a sheet before... I use PCGS as a guide and finalize my decision on the look of the coin in hand.

    It's always good to ask yourself is this a coin that a future collector would also pay a premium for image

    That is truly a special Delaware, with the tab toning. To me, it would be worth at most $2,400. Guess that is why I don't own it.
    I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.

    It looks like a beautiful coin. I have no idea if the price is high, low or about right. Spectacularly toned commems have their own special price guide and I haven't figured out how to access it yet.
