2011W SAE Production / Sales Question

Does anyone know the mint policy on production and/or sales of these coins after the calendar year ends? Are they made to order and sales stop after December 31st? Have they produced a bunch that are sitting on the shelf and will be sold until depleted?

I've looked on the mint website and find no answers. I've also done some google searching - no luck there either.

I thnk they still have them on the shelf..I just orderd one for comparison and the delivey was super super fast.I believe the production has ended for them.

Coins must be minted in the same year as the date on the coin. They can be sold into the next year.

I think November was a slow month for sales, so they probably have an extra million on hand. Not sure if that's W or what, but I think I read that sales dropped significantly month over month so they likely have a pile.

They have made all there are going to be already. They have inventory and they will sell into next year until the next W silver eagle is issued. It is possible that they will run out next year before the sales period ends but not all that likely. Most of the runs on that coin have been in the 500,000 range and there is no reason to think the tank is about to run dry.

They will sell until the next issue is released (as above).... Sometime after that... usually quite a while, final mint figures will be released. Cheers, RickO
