I don't collect this series ...but judging from your, not so great, scans, I would return it for a "Grade Review"

same coin as Placid is showing (just a lower quality pic, or more likely a scan)

...or just a worse photo/scan of the current coin!!!

It's clearly the SAME COIN! How else do you get those EXACT toning patterns???

I don't see what is so confusing about it. Does a coin have to be white to be 66???

I'll say it again.....toning should have NOTHING to do with grading!!!!!

Edited to say...I like the coin.

If that's the same coin, that seller is potentially leaving a lot of money on the table with those bad scans. Of course, some of my favorite eBay sellers have very bad pictures. image

must be the photos. it's perfectly acceptable to have natural toning, but you have to admit those photos make it look heavily circulated.

    DIMEMANDIMEMAN Posts: 22,403 ✭✭✭✭✭
I think it is just the toning hiding detail.

    What's so confusing? Why can't that be a 66?
Also, the pics you have and the heritage pics are the same coin...
    I'm confused about the confusion...

Looks like the same coin to me. The Heritage photo is better focused, better lit, and has the contrast punched up so the surface details are more clear.

Same coin, bad images in the OP.
I didn't really mind the OP images, I was assuming it was poor images.

I believe that this coin was on ebay....don't know if I can find out what it went for or not. Will check.

Edited to add that I did not have coin on my watch list, so I don't know what it went for.

I'm 99% sure this is the same coin as the Heritage pics. The toning pattern is identical. It's just a very poor photograph IMO.

Exactly the same coin and slab. This fellow is such a lousy photographer he oughta just use the Heritage photo's.

Isn't eye appeal still a grading factor? Sorry, but that coin is ugly.

That is the same coin. Technically it may be an MS66 but the toning appears very dark and the EBay photo doesn't do it favors.
