I say unopened and hold them until the next up cycle...my only fear in that are the people worried about spotting. In my opinion, downside risk is the box drops to $3k, next wave up should be back to $42-4500 (whenever that is). I wouldn't go the NGC route right now, I'd wait until the first wave of dropping prices ends.

I don't understand why you seem to think that you can't send unopened boxes to PCGS for FS labels. You could do that 5 or 10 years from now,as long as you keep the original mint boxes unopened.

Since 3 of the 5 coins are not unique and can be substituted, I would send them in to be certified by PCGS with a 25th Anniv. Set label & then place them in storage.

I say buy a 70 set and hold boxes to sell later if you have the funds to offset the cost of another set.

Hello, When you say postmarked 12-9-2011..............what does your mint order say for shipping date ??............That is what pcgs uses for FS (I believe). If that is 12-8 or earlier then they are eligible for FS......someone correct me if I have that wrong!

OK, First Strike cutoff date: December 7, 2011, so 12-8 would be to late...

Dont know wasnt an option, but that is my answer.I recently bought an unopened set(of one) for $790. on ebay.I can buy an opened set for a bit cheaper now,and might get one and save the unopened set for awhile.

to maximize ROI, sell all the pieces seperately. The capsules are worth about .50 ea, and the COA will probably bring a buck.

Thanks for the help. All the responses are good. I'm leaning toward holding the sets for awhile to see what varieties pop up, then sending them to be graded. I'd like to go with our host, but I'm concerned the plain blue holder will look too much like the non-set 25th anniversary coins...guess that's the same with the flag holders and they're doing just fine!

Label on the box shows 12/9/11, missed FS by 2 days at PCGS.
