Token Purchases

When making a token purchase either when spending alot of time at a dealers table and not finding anything you need or if you see something you really want and you want to buy other things so you arent just cherry picking or so the dealer doesnt feel you are wasting his time looking for other things besides the one coin you want ( while at a B&M) when he has other customers. How much and what kinda items do you try to purchase as a token to keep things happy happy?

I'm sorry, but I'm having trouble trying to figure out the point of your question. Perhaps if you broke it up into a few sentences it would help.

As a former dealer I can only tell you that spending hours at one's table or shop only to spend a couple of dollars, can be a source of frustration, especially when you make it harder to help other customers. This applies to both tokens and coins.

As a dealer you need to make courtesy purchases fairly often. Transactions help improve relationships between other dealers and yourself and new purchases means new material for you to sell. Courtesy purchases don't always have to be cheap coins, they can be anything that sells fast or has minimal downside risk.

A lot of stuff you buy "over the counter" from the public at coin shows are courtesy purchases.

Thanks for the advise. I was just wondering cause sometimes i end up spending 30 minutes at a time ( if it isnt busy) and was thing how much , how many purchases would be good to makeif i dont see much of anything I could use. always want to stay on the dealer's good side. The bad vibes I get is when a dealer says I have those but not with me and whenever I go back he never brings them. Even if i call in advance. Me wonders if they really have it . Or being nice. But whenever I see them at a show I ask on the off chance they do.
