40% silver melt question ?

Ok, I seen on ebay today the kenndy half dollars, with 40% silver from 1965 & up are selling for 1 Roll of 20coins, for $90 plus change, I did look up the melt value on the 40% silver 50cent coins and it is a dam good return, but do you think this bid is a scam for them bids, the seller got 20 bids so far on these kenndy's ? ...thanks for your reply

I understand that, so where would be a place to send them to for the silver value in them, minus their cost also ? [u"Also wanted to ask, on my other 90% silver coins to get the melt value out of them, a place that pays top dollar, if & when I want to get cash for them" ? ...thanks ]

Suggest you do a little bid of research .... check the completed auctions on eBay, and compare them to what they are going for on the BST. Most BM stores will not give you melt and neither will any refinery. Along with Sterling silver, 40% is the "arm pit" of the silver industry.

I just sold a roll of them on ebay just to test the waters and after fees and shipping I pocketed $79

Over on bullion direct I see a bid at 90 next time I would sell mine there commission is only 1% . You wait longer for money from there but if you don't need it right away you do better.

Most 40% and 90% JFK buyers do not buy with intention of melting. They buy the a hedge against the destruction of the US$.

20 X .1479 X spot price = melt value of a BU or Proof roll of 40% silver JFK 50C.
