Finally Reached "None Better" with my Peace Dollars (Temporarily)

"None Better" in a registry set is fleeting and I've been working on this set for over 6 years. Improving this set has been slow progress, but currently there are absolutely NO coins better (oops, I mean worse). OK, probably not what you were thinking, but don't make fun, it can be a humbling experience digging through scrap buckets at a show.

Congrats on completing the cool set!

You know you are never really done with a registry set, right? In this case there will always be a worse one that comes along, or an equally bad one you like better. (Boy that sounds weird.)

WOW,,,, have they really been doing Low Ball Sets since 2007?

It doesn't seem like that long ago that they started these sets?

    Congratulations on a remarkable achievement!!

Finding them already in holders is very, very difficult. And until you're tried to send in even one Peace dollar and have it grade Poor-01 at PCGS, you can't imagine how hard it is. To have put together this set is amazing. Bravo!
    When in doubt, don't.

Date might of been attained by strike quality of the higher relief, date is not always required on one year type coins.

You are correct. There is absolutely none of the date left!!!

A 1921 can be identified by the number of rays between the tail and the leg feathers on the reverse. There are 2 on a 21 and only 1 on all the other years. If you'll notice that is the only area left on the reverse and therefore can be identified as a 1921.

Well... congratulations... although I never understood the allure of this type of coin... it certainly is a tough accomplishment. Cheers, RickO

A couple of these, like the 26-d, are under graded. Crack it out and you'll make AG3.

    00 Planchet, Probably Peace.

Congrats on such a superbly weathered set.

In contrast, I am at work on the most mediocre Peace dollar set ever assembled. My goal is to get one of each Peace dollar. That's about it. I'm almost there.
