Trading frustration.....

Been trying to trade coins several locations lately and getting quite frustrated. Been willing to trade either laterally or even down, and still no takers. When is the last time you had a mutually beneficial swap.

My last mutually beneficial swap was Tuesday. Trading must be mutually beneficial and if you are initiating the trade then it's up to you to make it attractive enough to seal the deal.

Trades can be tough. As curly wrote, they should benefit both parties and to make them interesting to both parties can take some time and effort.

I typed-up about 5 different responses to this topic but erased them all since none was quite right

I'll just keep it simple with: Trading is very difficult!

I traded a couple of times. Did not really work well in my favor, so, I do not do it anymore. Now, I just buy and rarely sell.

Try trading cash next time, that might work a little better.

Every time I attempt a trade I end up doing worse then if I had just ebayed or BST the coin in the first place. Remember most of the time there is a reason you are looking to unload the coin. The dealers that I think are the most straight up with trading are
    Julian
    Dick Osburn
    Harry Laibstain

They apply their formula and round up as they are winning on the Buy side and the sell side, seams fair to me. plenty of dealers will "poison pill' their offer coins they aren't intrested in.

Agree. It's rare for me to have a coin that you want and for you to have a coin that I want where both coins have the same value which is why some cash is needed to make the trade work.

Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

I have never traded a coin... nor sold one (other than gold). Cheers, RickO
