Ebay calls coin "sexually oriented adult material"??

Has ebay lost their mind? I received this email, and thought it was a spoof or prank. It wasn't

MC999 eBay Listing Removed: Adult Material (535850816)
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Dear frankcoins (frank@frankcoins.com),

You recently listed the following listing:

110765031768 - EQUATORIAL GUINEA 1970 100 PESETAS .64oz .999 SILVER GOYA

Unfortunately, we had to remove your listing because of the following:

You listed an item with images that contain nudity outside of the appropriate regulated category. Naked lady sillouettes (such as on mudflaps or coins) are allowed in the general categories as long as there is no nipple/areaola detail on the item. We want to create an atmosphere that mirrors real life, where adults can purchase legal items, but people who are offended by these kinds of materials don't have to see them. Please relist this sexually-oriented adult material in the Adult Only category. However, even items that may be legal to sell to adults may not be permitted on eBay.

My original listing is completely gone, but looked like

This one

said detail seems to be on the item, therefore the eBay police seem to be right in following their terms.

I wonder if they make exceptions for art, as this is obviously a repro of a Goya work....

And they obviously don't know art or they'd recognize the name

It's because you have "nude" in the title.
You can list "adult material" you just have to make sure you choose the right category when listing.
I sold some classic playboys once and went through the same thing...but then I figured out you can't list it in "magazine back issues"...it has to also be under adult material.

    Stupid, yes.

    Reading comprehension.....

    Frank's was this one:
    110765031768 - EQUATORIAL GUINEA 1970 100 PESETAS .64oz .999 SILVER GOYA

(you can read that in his OP)

He then says it was SIMILAR to the one he linked to on ebay. When ebay removes a listing, you can't view it, so he gave an example.

Also, when it comes to listing on ebay, I kind of think Frank forgot more than you know so far image

I just checked my records on my Maja purchases on ebay. I purchased 13 silver, and two gold examples, in the years 1999 and 2000. Seems like many sellers were able to sell these through ebay a decade ago.

    Yep. They've lost their minds.

Try searching the love token category sometime, as I often do. You'll constantly be tripping over modern fantasy issue "brothel" tokens with all sorts of naughty sayings. Sometimes those "Heads I win, Tails you lose" pieces with the nekkid lady front/back, too.

But a government-issued COIN based on a famous fine art 19th century PAINTING, that triggers their wrath.

Hey Frank, it's time that you stop making false accusations. And, since this post is directed at my comments in the Precious Metals Forum, let me be clear:

    1) you clearly didn't read or comprehend my post

    2) you are making a false accusation, since I had nothing to do with your ebay problems

    Please apologize.

Frank---I get the feeling you're on eBay's radar screen ever since you got in trouble with them for trying to sell a Nazi coin.

Let's review. You couldn't tell the difference between an either/or statement, and then you called me an ignorant voter because I disagreed with you.

You quoted me in that pm thread, incorrectly attributed it to someone else, and then made the accusation in this thread - that someone messed with your ebay auction. If you quoted me, were you somehow accusing someone else?

I couldn't care less about your ebay problems. It's all your own stuff, and you need to own it. Not my issue. Stop making false accusations and then denying that you made them.

A number of people in the precious metals forum have ideas about economics that are JUST WRONG. It has nothing to do with politics. Many think we are under a huge inflationary period. We are NOT. YOU were the one mentioning printing billion dollar notes. Then I said that it's bad when people make investment and voting decisions based on incorrect assumptions. Again, you think I am specifically targeting you. I neither accused YOU of having anything to do with interfering with my eBay auctions, nor called YOU an ignorant voter.

Not correct. Pre-1980 Playboy magazines are specifically permitted in magazine back issues.
