Larry Shepherd joins Harlan J. Berk Ltd.
Harlan J. Berk, Ltd is pleased to announce that Larry Shepherd, long time numismatist and former Executive Director of the American Numismatic Association, has joined the U.S. Coin team at HJB Ltd. Larry joins Mike Printz, Robert Greenstein, and David Greenstein in their continuing effort to enhance their presence in the high grade U. S. coin market. Sammy Berk and Dennis Forgue are recognized experts in U. S. Paper Money, Maps and U. S. Medals. Tom DeLorey's encyclopedic knowledge of U.S. coins adds further experience and depth of knowledge to the team as a consultant.
"I'm thrilled to join such a well rounded team of experts. Harlan and the staff at HJB have an outstanding reputation for honesty, integrity and expertise across a broad spectrum of numismatic fields. I look forward to working closely with Mike Printz, who I've valued as a close, personal friend and have respected for his client oriented expertise for nearly 20 years. The opportunity to work closely with Mike, Harlan and the rest of the staff was a strong incentive to join the firm," says Shepherd.
Harlan Berk adds: "Larry's unquestioned integrity and extensive knowledge of rare coins and the coin market allows us to supply our customers with an even larger inventory of high quality coins to choose from. We feel this will enable us to move into the top tier of U. S. Coins, which we have occupied in the field of Ancient Coins for the last several decades. Additionally, Harlan J. Berk Ltd. is able to provide Larry's clients with a wide array of numismatic products and services."
Larry will remain in Colorado Springs for now and can be reached via email at: Larry@HJBLtd.com or via phone at 719.464.8801

I think the ANA allowed him to resign.

<< <i>Sweet! An executive-size severance package one day, and a great new job the next day. Did that once myself. Good for Larry! >>
Do you really think that's the timeframe? Really? Regardless, if Tom and Harlan have faith in him, that's good enough for me. Congrats to Larry for landing on his feet and I hope he is able to move forward with ease.

Larry worked himself to the bone in his position at the ANA and wasn't able to surface for air the first 24 months on the job to the point of exhaustion. He was relentless in trying to turn around the ANA.
I'm so happy for him. MJ

I'd pay $1,000 to the charity of your choice if you can get Obama to say that at his next press conference!

"During my tenure at the ANA I have not violated the ANA employee handbook, or the code of ethics as stated in the ANA bylaws. I did not violate any provisions of the ANA conflict of interest policy. I did not violate federal EEOC anti-discrimination or harassment guidelines (sexual, age, race, etc.)."

<< <i>FANTASTIC. At the risk of repeating myself Larry was one of my two coin mentors and he is near and dear to me. Obviously Larry has one of the best eyes in the business (maybe the best on color) but he is also cerebral and has a wicked business acumen. What a great hire for HJB LTD.

Oh, sorry, I should have been more specific.. I meant about the ANA deal as a whole. This HJB thing just makes it seem really really real.

Given that "unemployed people who do not immediately find new jobs are not good people" is logically equivalent, I would hope someone would not speak such an obvious falsehood ridden with class warfare.
But I suppose we are going off-topic, so let's leave it at that.

I only hope Larry retains one of the nation's top HR firms and files a major case for record damages against the ANA!
