I posed this question on a different forum
and would like to hear what everybody here thinks.
I'd like to see Buffalo gold fractionals issued as an annual set. I would also be in favor of a series of special releases (like a commemorative program) of classic designs in high relief issued in both gold and silver. The proceeds could be dedicated to the national debt. What the heck, I said in the title it was a "dream" LOL

Wrong mint!
they could try an UHR Palladium Eagle. They can make in it 1 troy ounce and with the same relief and diameter as the original, but make it thicker to account for the lower density.

no kidding.
may as well ask for a 1933 DE
what should they commemorate??

HA HA HA HA!
ATBs in 1oz silver. The designs are too small on the quarters but 5 oz hurts my wallet too much.
How about a HR or UHR Saint in the classic size?
for commemorative gold, the law mentions $5 or $10 gold. I'm not sure if this also restricts the size.
otherwise some of these suggestions are outside the law and would require Congressional authority.
But we're talking fantasy, anyway.
It would be an expensive one to purchase.
It weighed 83.59 grams, or ~2.69 troy ounces
Assuming 24k gold and $1850 gold price, the melt value would be $4,971.84
They may sell fewer than the first round originally sold!
.
since this thread is titled, "would make" instead of "would have made"
i'll say
1,000 - 20,000 from each mint of each series, mixed up and have to make us figure out which ones are the scarce ones like collectors in the distant past
an undetermined number of proofs - not sure which mint would put these out
2012 - dated on all coins
d - for denver
da- or something for dahlonega
pretty much exact designs of the past
winged liberty head dimes - p - d - s - w - o - cc - da .999
indian head nickel - p - d - s - w - o - cc - da .999
indian head cent - p - d - s - w - o - cc - da .999
shield nickel - p - d - s - w - o - cc - da .999
liberty head nickel - p - d - s - w - o - cc - da .999
barber - 10 25 50 - p - d - s - w - o - cc - da .999
lib seat 20c - - p - d - s - w - o - cc - da - .999
standing 25c - - p - d - s - w - o - cc - da - .999
all coins made .999 with the primary metal used with original issues to prevent spending, if that would work lol
each set would be issues with an original counterpart of the type, common circ examples
entire known die pairings for all known colonial US coins with variety attribution info with each 10-20 coin set made with .999 copper
special COA with the title, "Designers of the Past" or something like that
make em with a lot of that special recipe of mint grease and sawdust to allow for monster toning
maybe that would get some more interest in older issues?
Better designs on the modern commems. I know the mint doesn't control the subject matter, but they have some say in the design, and a lot of the modern commems have some pretty bland designs. I think a large part of this is subject matter. I imagine it is pretty hard to come up with an intersting design to commemorate the USO for example, but sometimes it doesn't feel like much thought or effort is put into it.
More UHR stuff: gold, silver, palladium, platnium, rhodium, copper, aluminum, zinc, steel, nickel whatever. I think they look cool and done with the right designs could be a hot item for the mint.

Don't forget a 1933 Buffalo nickel.
A silver proof set and uncirculated set. each year starting in 2012 with the following coins:
2012 indian head cent
2012 buffalo nickel
2012 mercury dime
2012 standing liberty quarter
2012 walking liberty half dollar
2012 peace dollar
Now that would be my dream set.
