Referring to where the prongs would be.
Whats up with the transparent part?
Is it cuz of the Fractional Gold being too small?

They have been using that for a couple of years, for fractional gold. Must be too small for prongs.

NGC has been using that for small coins for years, I have a Panama Pill that has the same kind of insert.
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

    What's a Panama Pill? image
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    Panama pill

Thus named because it is so small you may mistake it for a pill. I have one of these somewhere.

I think it's because it still allows you to see the shape of the coin (circular, octagonal, etc) but it's too small for prongs.

BTW Would anyone bid on that piece based upon the photos? If you are going to deal on the Internet in coins of that size, you really need a fancier camera or more knowledge about how to use your macro feature.
