My first Sub in 4 years Grades In- Not Good

wrightywrighty Posts: 840 ✭✭✭✭
I was submitting consistently with very mixed results but haven't sent anything in for 4 years. Well I joined the collectors club and sent in my 8 free submissions this past week. Hopefully my eye has changed for the better and the knowledge I've gained over the past 4 years will pay off. Below is the list of the 8 coins I submitted and the grades I have assigned to them, The 3 regular strike indian head cents were just to round off the order to 8 but the first 5 coins I'm excited for. I will post the results good or bad once once they are available. Jeff

The copper is the reason I had such mixed results in the past, cleaned, whizzed, a not genuine 1909-S, then the good raw buys that came back MS 65 RB, MS 64 RD and PR 64 RB. I've looked at a lot of raw and slabbed IHC's over the past 4 years and study the bodybagged copper. Lots of lessons learned some of them expensive but I'm a more knowledgable collector ........ I think.

It appears that you did not focus your submission on any one series. IF it were me and I was submitting
something other than Morgans, then I'd probably have even worse results! I can't say you did good or bad
as I don't know what you know, but I can say it could have been much worse!

I'm new to this grading system. What does this Actual Genuine 98 Actual Genuine 92 stand for?
  • Any chance you could post photos of the proof Indians? 1875 and 1890, I would like to see their photos

WELCOME turbo, good to have another car enthusiast here

The code for 91 is questionable color/retoning
Code for 92 is cleaning or polishing
Code for 98 is damage or metal movement such as rim dings, graffiti, toiling, whizzed mount removed etc.

"PCGS's opinion" would be more accurate then "actual grade, since in 45 years, I have never seen
    any "actual" coin grades.

Man, that stinks all day long. Sorry to hear that. Kinda scary since I'm getting ready to send in a bunch of stuff I'm not that familiar with. I might get slapped around too.

My most recent submission (pre-33 gold) should fare okay, even as gold has dropped __% since I packaged it up.
