I'm not sure about the grade- you will have to examine it in hand to determine that- but the toning is really nice- i've always liked the rainbow rim tonings on morgans. With really nice toning, the exact grade becomes a little irrelevant- it's a common morgan, whether it's a 58 or a 64.... the toning is what makes it purty!
My style is impetuous, my defense is impregnable !
I played with it in Photoshop CS5 and came up with this. I hope I'm wrong, but it looks cleaned at one point (long ago), re-toned (album), AU.
Like I said, I hope I'm wrong. Good luck, can't wait to see your pics.
I used to be somebody, now I'm just a coin collector. Recipient of the coveted "You Suck" award, April 2009 for cherrypicking a 1833 CBHD LM-5, and April 2022 for a 1835 LM-12, and again in Aug 2012 for picking off a 1952 FS-902.
Only becuase it was raw and I only have 1 other raw Morgan that needs submitting to NGC so I knew I would be sitting on it a while. As far as eye appeal I think it's going to be a nice coin in hand so no reason not to grab it

Ha, cool. Well I'll certainly let you know how it looks in hand!
I like this style of toning, but I've learned never to purchase a coin like this raw unless I'm at a coin show where I can see it in my hand before laying out my money.
Always looking for attractive rim toned Morgan and Peace dollars in PCGS or (older) ANA/ANACS holders!

Hey guys, got the coin back from ATS, and it came back 62*. I agree with the grade after looking more closely at the coin. There's just enough chatter on the face and neck to keep the coin from a 63. I still love it though, and of course it's mounted reverse out!

It could be mint state. The strike over Liberty's ear looks weak. that would account for the weak breast feathers. I like it.
