OT: ANA Restaurant Review
I won't even pretend this is about coins
Last night went to Bob Chinn's in Wheeling. Chinn's is quite reliable, even if the whole operation is setup like a factory. Fresh fish, simply prepared. Good as always, although you do need a car to get there.
During the day ate the Snack Stand on the bourse floor. It is pretty much typical convention center food - overpriced and not that great. But it was precisely what I expected so in that sense there wasn't a lot of disappointment. I've decided that a good way to earn brownie points with your favorite dealer is to show up at their booth with some reasonably healthy food around lunchtime.
Gibson's tonight. Gibson's is the local Chicago steakhouse with a few locations around town. It was OK not great. I think the food at Morton's is better. The location here next to the convention center will no doubt be mobbed all week regardless of the quality of food or service.
Tomorrow promises to be the highlight, going to Tru downtown. Whether the traffic will allow us to get back by Thursday AM remains to be seen.

I give away money. I collect money.
I don’t love money . I do love the Lord God.
<< <i>Recommendation for dinner: Carlucci. It's a half mile walk from the convention center. You can also call them to get a free shuttle ride. >>
I second Carlucci! It was fairly busy last night, although Wei Chang and I had no trouble getting a table in the bar at around 6:30 p.m.

Don't forget the cold bottled water. Shame on you.
<< <i>The Rosewood on Higgins (close to Carlucci) is excellent. Steaks Seafood ect. they also have free parking. >>
Ate there tonight as a guest at the New York Numismatic Club dinner. The calamari appetizer was fine! The grouper was absolutely wonderful! The asparagus was tender! The mashed potatoes were a frozen lump of library paste!
Go figure!

<< <i>Chicago used to have one of the ten best steakhouses in the U.S., forget the name now..... don't travel much since I retired. Still, the best steakhouse in the U.S. is Del Frisco's in Dallas.... outstanding steak.... Cheers, RickO >>
