Got one of each a couple weeks back. Thought I might live to regret it, but hard to get hurt on them now with the move in bullion.

Will they cancel a backordered item order if they raise the price?

I don't think so. Main "risk" is it gets cancelled as sold out.

Appears the Commems are not repriced actively like the bullion collector coins.

I placed an order for 4 after it went in back order, should probably stick to the unc army since it did not go on back order yet, Most people seem to prefer the MOH over the Army one.

This would seem to be the case with these, but the Buff and AGEs were repriced. Soon these will be below spot!

I ordered two CMH Uncs right after they went on backorder and my order showed as backordered last night. My order now says in stock and reserved and the Cancel button is gone. Perhaps the drop in the spot price of gold caused some cancellations.

    Well that happened without warning.

I have a Medal of Honor Unc still in my shopping cart. Wonder if I should try to checkout.

The United States Mint has suspended sales of commemorative gold coins for re-pricing.

Due to the current market volatility, we will be placing these coins on a “pricing grid” similar to the structure we use to price America Eagle, American Buffalo and First Spouse gold coins.

A new grid specific to these coins is being developed and will be posted when complete.
    Many happy BST transactions

The price of gold was around $1390 when the Army and CMH coins were likely being priced. So if priced on a pricing grid based on $1750 spot today, I think the new price would be $85 - $90 higher (difference in gold spot price * 0.2418).

I would think, it will be priced similar as the 1/4 oz proof AGE: $515...$10 less for the unc.

We did have adequate warning via numerous threads pertaining to the possibility of a repricing, this should not come as a surprise. The only surprise is, why did it take so long and why was it not repriced on Tuesday with the rest of the Mints gold products.

You have to tack on the $35 foundation surcharge which doesn't apply for the AGEs.

Agree it's odd they didn't suspend them on Tuesday.

When I returned my one MOH Unc because it had a ding and black spots, the Mint sent me two of which one was in "a gift for you" box. I thought maybe the Mint was in a generous mood, but no, they charged me for two and credited me for the one returned. I'm not complaining though since I'm happy to now have two at the pre-suspension price.

I had the same problem with both of my MOH - horrible. Both (+ one Army Unc. w/same problems) went back for replacement today.

Form now on when I buy Mint gold I'm taking the Metro to Union Station and picking them. $23 wasted sending them back today...

When I returned a proof set for spotting last year, the Mint refunded my return postage.

They may or may not take returns at Union Station regardless of what they say. This "shop" or kiosk many times does not have the issues that we all love that are near and dear to our heart - although I did get fractional buffs there and also the W unc. golds and plats...

Which gets me to thinking, gool ole days were they in '08 as I caught the unc. 1 oz plat for 1050 when the price briefly dipped down!

Which is why i go to Gallery Place metro instead, 2 blocks up on 9th ST, the kiosk at US Mint HQ, they frequently have a few left when items have gone dark on the the web site. They usually don't stock "limited purchase, household restriction" items unless they become slow sellers, but you can return it there over the counter, no questions asked.

    Yes, end of this year.

    This is from Michael's blog:

Under the authorizing legislation, sales of the Army and Medal of Honor Commemorative Coins are required to conclude before the end of the year. The US Mint has typically ended sales at a pre-announced date in mid-December.

With gold well over $1800 this AM looks like Army and MOH are almost certain to reprice at or above $550

Those who bought at $444 are getting close to melt price.

I'm thinking that they will come back at $528. Why? The price of an AGE 1/4 is $528 so they'll have to either reprice it again too or make them the same price. At least that's my guess.
