Mint set missing a coin... is this common?

I came into a few unopened 1970 mint sets. The second one I opened is missing the Denver cent. There is no damage to the packaging, no cut, no slits and no coin. I've never seen it and am just curious if it happens more than I know.
Thanks, Bill

I gaurantee it's worth a bit more. A cent more to be exact.

is limited.
There are folks who will buy them - I'd
suggest Ebay, if you want to sell the item.
It -might- bring a 30-50% premium, if the
bidders are confident that the plastic

If you want to sell it, you have at a minimum,
an interesting conversation piece.....
