Significant problem with my grading submission!
1. The turnaround was faster than indicated on the website (currently 19 days for regular)
2. 5/8 NGC crossovers (the other 3 crossed at one grade down--all 3 CAC'ed BTW
)
My order is going to screw up their stats.

<< <i>Time to put CAC to the test on the three that down graded. >>
NGC had their opinion, PCGS had their opinion and CAC had their opinion... what's to be tested?

Not necessarily. A coin can be solid for more than one grade. They will be extra solid for the new grade.

If coin grading was qualitative... yes, but it's not. What if the NGC slab hid a rim ding? What if the NGC slab was opaque from scratches? Too many variables.

Are any of the new grades PCGS AU58 CAC?

call me a party pooper - I don't like it at all -
Cac can't say the coins are solid for the grade and then say their solid for the next grade down too ...........
that's ridiculous .
of course a beaned coin would get re beaned in a lower graded holder , and yes, it would be xtra-XTRA solid for the lower grade then......... wouldn't it
.....you guy's are messin' with my mind

That wasn't very nice, Tom.
Not really looking for much these days but if I were, it might be a toner.

Keep on thinking that.

I wonder what percentage of NGC holdered coins have rim issues. I'd guess it is very low.

Tom and I have some history together which gives credence to his remark.

I own a certain NGC coin that has failed to cross 4X over 9 yrs. It is CAC'd and 1 of only 4 for the entire type to make MS67. Of those 4 coins PCGS and NGC each have 2. That represents about about 1/3 of the PCGS pops and <10% of the NGC pops. Even though the coin is one of the top 4 pieces for type regardless of holder, it doesn't help its "crossability."

Vely interesting.
I knew it would happen.
