Wow. Somebody is in it to win it. I just placed a $999K bid and it wasn't enough.

    Fun to watch you guys!

I sent the seller this note:

Obviously I can't pay with Paypal with this amount. So, I propose that you take a flight and deliver it in person and I'll pay you in cash at my bank if that is acceptable. I've researched this coin and want it. Will that work for you?

Why do I feel like this is going to end with someone shot, in jail, or both?

Well. I couldn't resist. I had to send a message image:

    Hello,
Can I make a personal pickup? I see you are in Texas. I will actually be in Texas next week on business. I have a few accounts in Bank of America so I could meet you at a public place such as a Bank of America. I could even come close to you to save you some trouble and hire a private security firm (such as Brinks) to escort and follow you to the bank with the coin and to wherever you need to go with the bank check I issue so you can get it into a bank account safely. Let me know if we can work out a personal delivery in a public location. Something of such a value should never be sent through the mail.

    Thanks

    Bid is 999,100? image

What is the angle on this. Surely no real bidder here.

I wonder if it's past the licking the chops stage and into the panic mode stage of oh no..what have i done .. i think Perry H got it right on with a lesser coin would have possibly been successful,i doubt the scammer realised they'd see million dollar bids , that could bring their wee house of cards down.

Asked the seller why no mention of the Cameo designation?
Pretty important piece to leave out, and no shot of the slab.
This is so much fun. Wonder if he or she has shat their pants yet?

Some lawyer could probably put this low-life through a wringer and hang 'em out to dry if they wanted.

I would not be fake bidding even on a fake listing. Bid 1.2 million and the guy might find the real owner and buy it for 900k. image

Looks like the system maxed out at $999,999.00 wonder if it will make the news with that kind of a new record high for a eBay auction. Sure seems to be news worthy.image

I believe so. Probably thought they could get a quick few thousand bucks and never realized it would blow up this high. A few thousand can fly under the radar and be in their hands pretty quick. Something run up this high will set off alarms all over ebay.

Bettter chance of being hit by lightning, than it being legit.
Beside where's the pic of the slab? Ebay violation, both side of the slab must be
in the listing. Already contacted Superior
and gave them the item number, and url.

I'd be willing to bet that he's "judgement proof"---no assets of any real value. No lawyer is going to waste his time suing such an individual.
