IT WAS A BANK! - Imagine the coins that went through here...

A photographer bought the building for $102,000 in 1966...the building is now estimated to be worth $30,000,000 or even much much more! Talk about ROI.

Be sure to look at the photo slide show to see the exterior shot of the New York building...and click to the second page of the article to review all of the lofty estimates. WOW! They even recently found a room they had not known about until recently. A big-time coin dealer or collector could buy the place one day and not have to worry about a long trip to the Safe Deposit Box because the place is still original!

    TOO COOL

    I'd be hunting for drop coins all over the place. Find a secret roon with a few
    bags of Morgans and other type coins.

    Of course I'm sure the original buyer(s) had to put some money into the place. But whether or not they did, the building is amazing.

    Over 45 years that is between 13.5-16% interest per year depending upon the value you believe etc...PRIME REAL ESTATE! Location Location Location + Cool Building!

    I would chalk it up to forward thinking, or just plain dumb luck! It was the kind of place 99% of the population would NEVER have wanted to live in...but now that the area has turned around, it's worth a bundle.

    I'd like to have an old bank as a studio...it would be sweet!

    $102,000 was a LOT of money back in 1966 where I believe a good salary was $10,000 a year.

    I can't even begin to imagine how much money has been sunk into that old building. But.........it's cool to look at and wonder. image
    I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    very cool using a old building like that , not many would ever dream of using a old building for a modern day home
