Good luck with the new club. Tell us how the first few meetings go.

How far away (distance-wise) is FUN? Promoting the club at that huge show is sure to bring in some members.

That would be about a 3.5 hour drive, give or take, I think...

Good luck with the club and GO GATORS! image

Good luck with club, stevereecy. And to keyman64, good luck with the gators...cause they'll need it!

The club has been meeting for several months now. I have not yet been to it, but I understand it is a popular club. I wish them the best of luck. I wish they met on a day when I was available, but those are the breaks I suppose.

Going with the current portion of the sports season...I believe only the Gators are still active in the College World Series. The silly Noles were eliminated. Gators are winning versus Vandy right now 4-1 in the 7th inning. If the Gators win today(or tomorrow if necessary) they get to the FINAL! Gator Softball made it to the final but sadly lost. Women's Tennis WON another National Championship just weeks ago....

What have those silly 'Noles done recently? image

College World Series? Really? Sports begin in August and end in January. And the Noles are looking primed to tear up the ACC and also Florida this year.

(No offense mean on the CWS jab...it's just something about the sound of aluminum bats that makes me want to change the channel...)

Well, the Gators are playing for yet another National Championship this year. June 27-29 Baseball. I wonder what those silly 'Noles are doing...NOTHING! image

It looks like FSU has had 12 National Championship Teams while UF has had 26 and will work on their 27th next week. Just Sayin' image

I will admit though, it was an impressive bounce back for FSU Football last year. Losing to USF in 2009 must have been a tough one. I hope FSU can stay undefeated the entire season leading up to when the Gators will beat them in November. So in that regard, go Noles! image

In regards to academics...my sister went to FSU, but only because she could not get into UF! UF was her first choice. I went to UF. image

Thanks for the well wishes for the club.

    And yeah...Noles Rule!

We wouldn't mind if some of you dirty, nasty, gators visited our club once in a while to show or swap coins. Coins firt, after all.

Regarding FUN...we've been talking about carpooling to some of the larger shows. I hate that I'll be in Orlando on 4th of July weekend because it makes it hard to go back there the following weekend. Its a 4 hour drive minimum and thats with ME driving.

    I hope the club thrives.

Now, re FSU vs UF: As I tell all my UF students, I think they should be very kind to their FSU brethren because all UF and FSU students have one thing in common: All were accepted at FSU. image

More seriously, I must admit envy that there will be a coin club in Tallahassee. I wish there was one in Gainesville. Perhaps when/if I retire I might work on getting one started...

all UF and FSU students have one thing in common: All were accepted at FSU - well said.

Was much tougher deciding on a prom date than it was deciding between UF and FSU (prom dilemma: do you go with the guaranteed home run, or with the super hottie you’re proud to take pictures with, but know you’ll be lucky if you get to 2nd base).

At that time, Florida had an Engineering, Medical, and Law school, FSU did not.

But FSU did have a Circus School; complete with a big top tent setup across the street from Joke-Shambles Stadium… very strange, collecting tuition to train your kid to be a carnie?

btw, I did take Mark's class I think in 1990, fun class, packed with hotties.

    That's great news . . . So when are ya'll planning a show for the Capital City ? ! ? !
We used go to the mall in Tallie quite often. The GF shopped & I'd go to the coin shop across the street & hang out.

    BTW . . . Although I'm much closer to Tallahassee . . .

We've talked about putting one on. We need more members to swing that, but maybe not...dunno.
