PCGS Rattler. Is it possible?

Is it possible to determine when a coin was slabbed if it is housed in a PCGS Rattler? I know PCGS graded their coins with this slab in 1986; 1987; 1988, and for a few months at least, in 1989. Can one determine based on the serial number what year a Rattler was graded?
I see many, "213..." serial numbers and "707..." numbered Rattlers and it would seem the 213s where graded in 1986 exclusively and the 707s in a later year.
This is weak evidence at best though as the number of slabs I've looked at is too small.

PCGS has never made the date something was graded public knowledge except for a very few coins when hitting certain milestones.
Some bulk submissions may have been in the 7000000 series numbers.
I am at this moment looking at a 1885 Morgan with a serial number of 1283278 thats in a Gen 2 slab which defies your logic regarding the 2130000 serial numbers.
Granted, the Gen 2 slab is identical to the Gen 1 with the exception of the wrap around but why would a 128 number get the Gen 2 while a 213 not?

LOL! Good one.
<< <i>Lets say that you could hypothetically hack into the PCGS data base and figure out when your rattlers were slabbed. Of what real use would this information be to you? >>
First off, it wouldn't be hacking into the system if there was a viable way of obtaining the info honestly, and second, I am an information snob.

Since an Ike Dollar qualifies as a Presidential, I think your wallet is in for a workout.

This would be great information!!
Old thread alert!
It's not. It's a Gen 2 with the band broken off. It was just a simple piece of plastic slid on (granted it takes some skill, but). It's not until the next generation that it's actually an integral piece of the shell.
