You can and will get a refund if in fact it was not delivered. But express mail does not always update immediately upon delivery. You may have to wait until tonight or maybe even tomorrow or Monday.

Since it is after their "guranteed delivery" time, I will have to call em Monday.

"The refund process for a service failure for a domestic Express Mail or a Global Express Guaranteed item with online labels is the same as for traditional labels. Submit requests for Express Mail service refunds to your local Post Office. For Global Express Guaranteed service failures, call 1-800-222-1811."

I just walked into my local post office with a receipt and told them it wasn't delivered on time and they looked it up and quickly gave me my money back.

I haven't used Express Mail for a while, but last time I did, there were some locations (mostly rural) that were 2 day delivery.

Maybe I will do that if they can't help on the phone. Its not that big of a deal and I will just give the funds to the "seller" since it was post-paid.

Sundays? Did not know that. And maybe this has something to do with the delay.

I've sent Express Mail packages to New Hampshire from the NYC area and the best they would promise was two-day service.

Some places are only 2 day service, this seems more the case sending from the west going east. In that case the guarantee is 2 days. Some reason my place to the sticker factory never makes the guarentee. I have only done it a couple times and they are 0-3. I will get another refund on Monday.

Keep in mind that the USPS does not handle their express mail 100% on their own. I think FedEx helps them out with delivery of express mail. I have been told by postal employees that a package woud not arrive until Monday when delivered on the Friday or Saturday before.

Edited to add: But maybe since they put a guarantee on it, it will be honored.

If it is going to a PO box and it is guaranteed for Sunday delivery then the owner of the PO box will have a note placed in the box on Sunday stating that they have a package.

My comment was meant that they will not guarantee delivery to all addresses to make next day. Once they commit as in your case they are bound to get it there in the times stated or refund.

I used to mail to stuff to a sports memorabilia store all the time from Illinois to Laurel, MD and they never gave me a one day delivery with Express. It was always a two day thing.

Delivery to more rural zip codes do not have overnight service and Express Mail is rarely available for Sunday delivery despite what the commercials claim. A lot of the times Express Mail sent on Saturdays won't be delivered until Tuesday.

If an item does not get delivered by the guaranteed time you can take the delivery slip to a post office and request a refund. After you fill out one form and the information is verified they will give you cash or a postal order if the amount is over $25.

and sometimes the updates are slow.

perhaps it will update tonight.

but, as others have said. if it was delivered late, and you are the shipper, you can get a refund.
