Someone just wasted Larsen in the 2000 Mint Set...
... it must feel good beating a 10-year-old! I guess only one 2000 Mint Set award wasn't good enough!
jk... Larsen is starting to collect half-cents and gold, so he's selling his 2000 Mint Set. Larissa is still undecided.

Mr Hutton is one of the "good guys".
Should everyone just roll over for us YN? That wouldn't be much fun for us if they did.
It is a shame this thread was started, did it upset your child or yourself?

Apparently they rearranged the 2000 MS Sets, this set has been there since 2004. Yet I haven't been here since 2008.
I too would appreciate if you would remove my name from the subject line of the post - Lafoe. I don't want to call in a Moderator.

Some I guess even try to defend Anthony Wiener, but I've been taught that "bad conduct is just that, bad conduct".
I was making a joke... now I know why it's not so funny.
What are the odds... my joke is about the 2000 Mint Set and the above thread is about a 2000 Mint Set!
I was actually paying someone praise for having a better set.
<< <i>For heaven's sake, gentlemen, it's called a joke. Very different from Anthony Weiner, who actually IS a joke.... >>
The title of this thread...followed by the first line of the original post...is in poor taste. Calling it a joke doesn't diminish that fact.

if your son is smart enough to collect early copper and gold...why not let him post on the forum?
Probably smarter than me

Read it again... it's praise (only after some applied their opinions did it become anything more/less than praise)... thank God I have a sense of humor or I might take myself too seriously!
What's the big deal here??????????????

Wondercoin had a gem of a statement in that thread:
"One of the many lessons I have learned "doing registry" for the past 1/2 dozen years is that it is OK to be #2 or even #5 or #25. I enjoy competing as much as the next guy, but, in fact, at times it is immensely cathartic to be #2 or #25 AND TRULY ENJOY YOUR COLLECTION."
Too bad, for some, that their ego and thin skin run so rampant that it darkens their passion.
To have a top mdoern set is not easy, nor cheap. There are different ways to do it, depending on one's time/resources/skills. One way is to just buy your way into the top spot. Work with the top pop modern makers and go to town with your wallet.
The other way is to do what Clackamas has done....he bought hundreds/thousands of 1968 mint sets and went through them all....he has an unassailable top 1968 mint set in the registry. I don't think someone with money buying top pops could even realistically catch him. And, from my experiences with him, while he is definitely passionate about his sets, he does not have the thin skin or the bad form ego that some exhibit.
Getting back to Mitch's quote....I have been #1 (very short time worth) in a few sets, and even #2 or #3. Right now, some of them are #2, #4, #5, #99, #161.....but, I like them all the same because it is the collecting and the coins I like and I don't need to spend a ton and get upset at people because of the registry.
Larry, it was nice of you to change things, even when poorly threatened by someone running to a moderator in the thread, when the person could have just PMed you and nicely asked, which would have been a lot classier. you obvisouly are a good man, Larry.

PS
If you take Larsen to the ANA let me know...... I have something for him

I didn't cave in... I actually felt bad. I didn't realize he had Registry history on this Board; if I did, I wouldn't have posted the thread. (Unless it was as a jab to one of the prolific posters here that have a sense of humour!)
