Something you don't see everyday....

So, I was taking this picture today, had the camera setup with a 10 second time delay. And lo and behold what comes running across the slab at a most inopportune moment. Anyone else ever have anything like this happen before? Oh and just for your info, this is the $5 version, so the coin is about the size of a dime.

I captured this beast in 2009, IIRC. But unlike you, I was ready for him. image

Nasty little critters. Once, years ago, when I was a supervisor in an electronics firm, I had an inspector working for me that I suspected of sleeping while ostensibly looking through a microscope at miniature assemblies. One evening (it was second shift) when I was reasonably sure she was asleep, I quietly slipped a dead fly on the assembly in the center of her viewing area. Then from behind her, I called her name. The shriek could be heard throughout the factory..... and she never slept on the job again (heck, maybe never slept at home either image ). Cheers, RickO

    Not a brown recluse.

The Brown Recluse has a distinctive fiddle on its thorax and has only 6 eyes arranged in pairs versus 8 for other spiders.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    The name is LEE!

Well, it hasn't rained here in what seems like months... and I haven't been blood let by any this year I don't think. I guess that's one good thing about no rain! I'd rather have the rain to be honest! Come on rain!

Next time I see a small brown spider in the woods of PA, I'll make sure to try and count how many eyes it has image
