Tulving offering the S mints in sealed boxes .49 per coin more than the non mintmark coins. S mints offered at 3.49 over spot per coin with free shipping. I'd pay on only $245 more for a sealed box of S mints if I was in the market for a sealed box.

Completists and registry participants likely will.
    I won't.

Will the SF mint be producing a burnished version?
That should carry a mm, like W version correct?

My bad, forgot they didn't have the mintmark and could only be certified by the sealed box with the San Fran band.
The certified S coins will be a big hit with the collectors. I gave them up when spotting surfaced.

I haven't kept up on MS70 ASE prices, but I did a quick search through APMEX's site and things seem to be going for $90+ for 70s in general. There will probably end up being a lot of these graded in 70 though.

No doubt...APMEX alone had over 1900 S 70's when they started selling, but only 500 or so Phila 70's..The Philly produced slabs have the 25th Anniversary label.... As the saying goes in this case.." buy the slab and not the coin."
Actually they are selling for less per oz than the 70 P graded hockey pucks.

Maybe I should since I will be considered a "loyal" Apmex customer and not just get shipped the culls they stuck in the corner for their new customers!

Pure gimmickry. Like all those ASE W's being sold without mintmarks.

A case of buying the holder, not the coin. Never.

I gotta ask. Who is selling an ASE W without a mintmark? Everyone I've seen has W mintmark. Those would be proofs and the 3 years of burnished die ase's.

I notice PCGS is using the same Coin Number for the "minted at SF" label as the "25th ann." label coins.

So, I wonder if registry sets will include both. I'm no registry user. So, I'm not sure.

They need to do it before the F/S deadline ... What is the cut off date for the ASE FS designation...I don't see it listed on the PCGS website.

eBay Seller aboncom has been seeling "Without W" SAE's since 2006.

    image .. image

These new "No S Mintmark" SAE Slabs simply add validity to all the "Without W" slabs that he has sold over the past few years.

2011 might be different though since he'll not really know if its a "Without W" or "Without S" SAE but I'm sure he'll figure something out.
