Nitrile gloves and proof coins

I have a question:

I have to "pop" out a lot of modern proof singles out of cracked sets that I took the silver out of.

Often times, doing this requires touching the coin.

Nitrile gloves are used in lieu of Latex when I am testing large quantities of scrap gold, because the nirtile gloves won't react with the nitric acid.

However, I wanted to know if anyone knows whether or not they are going to do any harm to the proofs. I know cotton gloves won't, but they make my hands sweat.

Any information would be appreciated.

I've found any gloves increase the odds of my fumbling a coin.
That's just me.

I do this over a large piece of padded felt, so that's not an issue.

Never been a problem for me... I have nitrile gloves and have used them often on coins. Cheers, RickO

You stand a better chance of compromising proof coins by not wearing a surgical or dust mask than you do by not wearing gloves, unless you are a coal miner or auto mechanic.

I use my bare hands with proper coin handling techniques. I just wash my hands well with a good liquid detergent to degrease my fingers and dry my hands well before handling expensive high grade coins. Working over a padded surface is also a good idea.
