It's been some time, let's see what the Carr Peace dollars are selling for today...
$365
$435
$305
A couple predictions did not take place like "these coins will be confiscated by the Secret Service", "Mr. Carr will be arrested" and the classic "These coins will be worth melt".
These coins have VERY LOW mintages. Here's my prediction! Their prices will creep up as new numismatists enter the hobby. They will only go up in price.
There is no "AT" or "NT". We only have "market acceptable" or "not market acceptable.

No way these can diminish in value . .

Thought I'd use an analogy to make it real . . . . .
There's only two things you can count on... life and death, everything in between is like a DCarr Peace dollar... life began, you grew older, someone made you look younger and then in short order you're forgotten.
Nice coin, I like it.
They also aren't "selling" for MOON MONEY.
They were a fad and even with a "low mintage", they aren't likely to garner a large collector base.
Play with them, enjoy them if you want, but they aren't mint issued (date/mm/denomination) COINS, and so, for purists, they never will be.
For those that like to play with their imagination, their fine, but it's when the imagination folks try to force them on others with constant barraging of "in your face" that folks get upset.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

If you say so, but plenty of people have said the same about lots of other things, too.
We'll see.

<< <i>We all began in this hobby/ business because a particular coin caught our eye. Was it the metal that attracted us or was it the design ? I admit it was the design of the Buffalo nickel and the Standing Liberty Quarter that got me going .IMO, the Mint has not encouraged creative sculpting due to the effects on die life (profits). I will admit I am impressed with what Dan Carr has done with SOME of his works. I own a single piece and I can emphatically say I really don't care if I make any money on it should I decide to sell. I appreciate its beauty at any price. Good job, Dan.
I agree
<< <i>The op called them " coins "
Weren't these struck over real coins struck by the U.S. mint? Or, were you just being

Thanks D. Carr!
Well, just Love coins, period.
<< <i>Glad you said 'selling for' because the only one that 'sold' was at 305.00
Nice coin, I like it. >>
Huh? There are several sales pulling up at $435.
I'd sold one for $675 a few months ago, long term I'd say up...

You're the one obsessed with what other people think about it........
<< <i>I regret not getting one of these when they were first available. Not for value, but because they have caused such a major controversy... I like to be part of such things...
Did you buy some of the 1975 IKE's RicKo?
If not, they are there waiting for you.
The name is LEE!
<< <i>I'd forgotten all about them , and there's the problem with them , easily forgettable.I'd be extrememly nervous holding any of them long in regards an investment. >>

<< <i>I might get a 75 Ike. It's not as controversial as the 64D's, but still has some humor potential. I wish the font on the date was a better copy of the original, though. >>
The "197" part is an exact copy of that used on the original Ike dollars. Since no "5" was ever used on an Ike dollar date, I had to "guess". I may tweak it a little bit when I do a "D" and/or "S" mint-mark version.

You could use a 5 off of a 1975 cent, nickel or dime, as Gasparro presumably modeled those.

Now.....this one is just Wayyyyyy to cool!!
