Ok quarter specialists--whats this?

KaelasdadKaelasdad Posts: 1,232 ✭✭✭
I was checking some of my quarters and came upon this--not my specialty, maybe someone can chime in, I wonder if a really good quarter person can even guess the date. one pic was with flash, one without--tried to get some close features.

The mint changed mint mark punches every now and then as they wore out or broke. This is correct for this year.

Thanks, I could have sworn it was an S/S--Ive seen other overmints not as pronounced--but if its a worn punch, oh well

Was there a small S on this date? Looks like large/small to me.

I think there would be more details if it was an S/S. It appears it could be die chips or something like that.

Looks like die chips from a late die state.
