There seems to be some wear on the high spots. I'll venture an xf45 guess. Mel

Looks very well struck for an 72. I would say AU 50.

    I agree 45-55.

Same here; I had a '72 that I would have called a really nice VG that came back as a F-15 just because they're typically so poorly struck; 45 on a bad day, 50-55 on a nice one.

I'm in the AU 55 column.

The feather tips are a little weak - but
    the diamonds are fairly strong.

Nice coin and well struck too. The holder needs some toothpaste to remove the marks.

toothpaste? I tried that once and ended up with a mass of hairlines...really poor results. Polishing slabs has been covered many times here, slab re-new is the best product, some like plastiX.....Usually now I just hold them lightly to my buffing wheel.

Well, you have grade guesses from XF 45 from the peanut gallery to AU58 from the boys at NGC to a green bean from CAC suggesting a high end 58.

I guess this grading from photos is NOT an exact science then, eh? image

PS edited to add: when you submit to CAC make darn sure your slab is as pristine, clear and scratch free as possible. dont let anything you can do to improve the appearance of the coin inside slip by. CAC may take second looks, but make that first appearance as splendid as possible.
