1895 Liberty Nickel strange overdate with a "2" or something in it, or am I going crazy? (

Hey guys,
Ok, so I have this 1895 Liberty/V nickel I picked up out of a bargain bin a few weeks back because the date looked suspicious to me, and I just took a few photos after looking at it under a loupe, and, as the title asks, Is this a weird 1895 overdate with a "2" or something in it, or am I going crazy?" Let me be clear, I openly accept the possibility of "option 2" being the correct one. This may just be a number shaped die break or a smudge or something, but I figured I would put it to the experts. The photos aren't great, but I have the date at a couple of angles and both sides of the coin below. I'm looking in particular at the angular jut out to the left at the base of the 8, and what appear to be interior loops of the 8. Thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

<< <i>I see A LOT of die deterioration going on with that coin. You are not crazy, but I am sorry to report that there is no 2 under the 8. It is a product of a combination of any one or three of the following: die deterioration, hit, and/or wear. >>

A ten year old thread, and you put your first post in it?
Well, it's now a current thread.
Personally, I'll give him credit for searching the archives before just starting a thread about a damaged coin.
Damage more than worn. It's scratched.
Damage IMO.
@Ghnumis.... Welcome aboard... Your coin is damaged. Cheers, RickO
