That is not really a Canadian then. A real Canadian would be a wearing hockey glove with one hand and holding a beer with the other. Therefore, how could he take the picture? Consider yourself lucky.

It'll probably show up. My experience with packages from Canada is that you always add a week or so onto what you think it should reasonably take. I live in Alaska and it takes up to three weeks to get something from Northern BC. Ridiculous. None of these packages involved coin transactions though.

Yes, your single experience with a Canada seller is the rule to judge all sellers from Canada. Thanks for the heads up and sharing.

Edited to add, good thing the seller was wearing latex gloves, wouldnt want to get finger prints on the holder image

I have that same coin with the same toning !!!! Mine is in the original mint case, which I am sure caused the toning, it is like a molded latex foam type padding inside a metal box.

I hope you get yours soon !!!

According to the CBC, it's currently a rotating strike, meaning slowdowns but not a complete halt.

Perhaps the title of your thread should have been "Warning: Canadian postal workers now on strike".

I don't buy anything from Canadian's. They are cheap, unreliable and will often skirt paying their bills. My company has a policy not to do business with anyone from Canada unless we have cash on the barrel. Way too many of them are dead-beats, it is a wonder how the country survives.

The latex gloves are a bit of overkill considering the coin is in a plastic capsule.

They do this cyclically up there with their postal service. I remember a few years ago when they said they were too busy to cancel stamps on envelopes - and sure enough I got mail from Canada with uncancelled stamps.

By way of comparison, their mail is expensive, service very slow - they actually make the USPS look somewhat efficient.

Virturally every public service sector of virtually every other country in the world does this at least once every two years. In Europe, truckers get PO'd and park their trucks sideways across the on-ramps of the freeways. Your package will show up eventually. Even if they're on strike they don't take the mail to the landfill.

My wife left for the store a few minutes ago. I asked her to pick up some Canadian Club. I just called her and asked her to change my order to Don Julio tequila (blanco) instead.

When I have had to use Canada Post I have always found their people very nice and accommodating. One of them gave me a Canadian flag pin even, and I still have it. I like Canada, we used to visit there a lot - but with all of our foreign passports after 9-11 it became too much hassle to get back into the USA after visiting Canada so we just gave up. I do miss the food goodies you can get there, mostly British but occasionally some Frenchy type stuff too.

I quit shipping to canada years ago, most of the buyers i sold to always wanted me to lie on the value form. I would say at least 95 percent. I do not like to pay extra fee's either. I just decided to pass on selling there. If a buyer from Canada wants to buy and has no issue with the value i have no issue.

All the Canadian relatives were coming over here to buy liquor and beer for weddings etc, because the PST/GST were so high in Canada. Maybe more so now because their dollar is greater valued than the USA dollar.

My argument PHall is by population alone, there's a greater number of 'problem buyers' from the US, than from Canada.

I can't see anyone not agreeing to this.
